 Year in Summary  2003

2003 Year in Review

 Belinda’s point of view

Another season!  Gives me two under my belt, and John seven!!  We finish the season bound for Thailand , with dreams of alterations and most importantly Thai food.

This year Indonesia suffered from SARS (like the rest of the world) and a bomb in Jakarta .  Yet again, I came to realise that nothing will stop these surfers – they keep on coming, even with protective masks!

Eventually it had to happen, and I swam with my first shark, then second, then third, and so on, I can tell you it is a total rush, but at the time if I am honest it is just plain panic.  I have also swum with wild dolphins - a pod of grown ups trying to teach their baby that us humans are dangerous, have seen Nemo many times, and I was even lucky enough to get up close and personal with a reef at night time!!!!

John and I due to a cancelled charter slipped home to be married on a Sydney Harbour boat cruise.   A beautiful day, one which I believe Ian accepted me into the McGroder family by showing Sydney the most perfect day ever in Winter.

 Then straight back to charters.

I have yet again accumulated too many photos, too much video, too many stories to even pick out one to tell you…..

I hope to see all my clients, which I can’t help but call my friends again next year….thank you for supporting us through another season.

As John said the other night when someone told him he can’t surf all his life: “Shit!  Then what else could I possibly do?”

We will do it all again come 2004!
